I’m not the only that enjoys the luxuries the 3 Series offers drivers; in fact, U.S. News and World Report ranks the 2010 model number one out of 18 upscale midsize cars. The review goes on to mention that “many in the automotive press consider the BMW 3 Series the best sport sedan built today.†That is high praise from such a well respected publication.
On top of this accolade, the BMW 3 Series holds another jaw-dropping record: Car and Driver has ranked it in its “10Best†cars for 18 consecutive years. BMW dealers in NJ will concur; the BMW 3 Series is simply one of the highest quality vehicles on the market.
Offering balanced handling, near 50/50 weight distribution and suspension tuning biased towards the sporty side of things, the BMW 3 Series has a little something for everyone, including a range of powerful engines to satisfy a variety of needs. BMW dealers in NJ offer 3 Series models with a choice of three powerful engines, and the vehicles benefit from a chassis and suspension tuned for aggressive handling. I’ve had the pleasure of tearing around winding roads in this vehicle, and it hugs curves like they’re going out of style. Serious power and handling sets the 3 Series off against other vehicles in its class.
One of the engine choices you’ll find at your New Jersey BMW 3 Series dealership is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder that pumps out 230 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque, earning an EPA rating of 17/15 mpg or 18/28 mpg depending on which performance options you couple with. 335 models are equipped with the same engine but add a pair of turbochargers, gaining an engine rating of 17/26 mpg. The twin-turbo diesel engine kicks things up a notch, blasting out an impressive 425 pound-feet of torque and rated 23/33 mpg. The vehicle comes standard with a six-speed manual tranny, but you can also choose an automatic.
Pretty soon, the BMW 3 Series will add a hatchback to its lineup that should do well against competing luxury wagons and small SUVs. That model is set to go into production in 2010. The legendary German manufacturer will also add a four-cylinder to its American 3 Series lineup.
BMW enthusiasts everywhere have raved about the 3 Series for years and years. Now that I’ve finally jumped on the bandwagon, I’m happy to say that I’m content in my conversion.
